CV

Babis Alexiadis is an animation and media artist. After graduating he started producing short animations and worked on commissioned projects. Amongst these he worked on video art productions and produced his first solo exhibition 'Inner Dialogues' in 2006. He then started producing animation and film projects using as a platform city landscapes. Working and engaging with the public is integral to his artistic practice.

His animation won the public's choice award at the Micropolis international film festival in Athens. He was also awarded 1st prize at the Video Your Point of View competition and the animation 'A House On The Moon', which he directed, was shortlisted for a Royal Television Society award. Since then his work has featured in productions of English Touring Opera and Opera North, and he has collaborated with BBC Big screen West Midlands. He has provided animation workshops for Friction Arts and Lighthouse, and has directed two music videos. His work has been showcased in UK and international film and animation festivals such as Athens Video Festival and Anifest Czech International Animation Festival.
